===== Backup from Storage Snapshots takes long time due open VM Snapshots =====

Backup from Storage Snapshots takes hours with “Map Disk Region” messages because of VMs with open VM snapshots.

Using the following registry key, VBR can automatically failover  from Backup from Storage Snapshot processing to regular processing if a snapshot is detected on the VM during job startup. This is valid starting with version 12.3.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication\

  SanNoBFSSIfSnapshotExists (DWORD, 1)

0 = Disable failover from BFSS (Default)

1 = Enable failover from BFSS if snapshot exists
